For the price this thing isn't too bad. I am having trouble making straight cuts sometimes because the head keeps turning. My suspicion is that I can tighten the screw and it will fix the problem, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I don't fill mine with oil, because I was taught to just keep a dab of oil out (I use a makeup cotton pad with olive oil) and just grease it every 4 cuts or so. I'll probably eventually upgrade to a real Toyo, but this is good for now.I use this to cut glass-backed silica plates for use in R&D. They seems to scrape the glass rather than score a straight line.This cutter is not only comfortable to grip, but cuts perfect straight lines. I had almost half the plates I cut snap in half diagonally with the other cutters. This thing is a life saver. My coworkers agree as well. Maybe the blade won't last as long, but it's a hell of a lot better than the alternatives and works almost as well as the $800 smart cutters!My wife is taking stained glass classes through the local rec and this is a tool she specifically asked for, as it is her favorite after 8 wks and 10 projects. Super comfortable and it cuts like a dream for her. She says that it doesn't require much power and cuts very nicely. Self oiler works well and keeps the blade gliding easily over the glass, doesn't make a mess or leak, so a keeper in her growing collection of tools. A must have for any beginner.I purchased this tool as a trial for use in a glass fabrication facility. The biggest problem with it is it will not withstand being dropped very many times. For the limited time it was functional it cut well and had good oil control (mineral spirits works good if you're a home gamer). The ergonomics are very good compared to a typical glass cutter, and people new to cutting glass find this much easier to control and use correct pressure with.Works well but the oil leaks out!!!I have a Toyo brand pistol grip cutter that I love, but needed to buy at least 8 to teach a mosaic class and Toyo was too expensive for that. I got these and they worked perfectly for class. Please note: I never have oil leakage issue because I dip my tips in a cotton ball soaked with oil rather than putting inside the handle. Toyo is still my personal favorite, but this would be the more affordable option.Go to this pistol grip cutter quicker than I do to my pencil cutters. Find the grip comfortable and makes cutting inside and outside curves a bit easier than the pencil cutters.This is so easy to use while cutting straight lines on glass. The only thing I don't care for is that the oil leaks out of it while laying down in between uses.
