High quality natural oil for both oil painting and wood care. Country of origin Anatolia (described as a walnut garden).
Oil painting application Walnut oil is the basis of numerous oil color products. It is used as a binder or for thinning. Painters such as Van Eyck, Dürer, Da Vinci, Titian, Michelangelo, Rembrandt, Rubens and Van Dyck, but later Corot and Degas also used walnut oil in their colors.
Advantages of painting with oil colors based on walnut oil I. Development of a very high luminosity and brilliance. II. Relatively quick drying and a low tendency to yellow (much less than linseed oil). III. Creation of an infinite number of color nuances, made possible by the high pigment absorption capacity of the oil.
Use as wood preserver Provides a natural shiny effect and a protective coat on wooden objects (e.g. cutting boards, work surfaces, breakfast boards or dining tables). Contain no chemicals or solvent. Safe to come to contact with food.
Due to its thin structure, it penetrates deep into wood. Dries to a protective coat making the surface less sensitive for scratches and moisture, while maintaining the pored structure for still ‘’breathing’’.
